Everybodies favorite Worms clone just got better

Well, maybe it hasn't got better yet, but they are working on it. Where this Worms clone might be you might ask? Of course i'm talking none other than Hedgewars. This game caught my eye and many others a while ago, and now its got me excited yet again. One of the developers has put up spoiler pictures of Hedgewars running on an iPad.

This may not seem like much to a Linux user like myself but it means more accessibility and more users to play a game I love. The game currently is only supported on all the major platforms for PCs, Mac OS X, Linux and Windows. Making this game one of the better Worms clones out there and the game play does not disappoint. You've got your normal worms style weapons and then there are the more advanced ones like the Sine gun which I've read might not stay in the game due to the difficulty of use. Show your support, go to the site and give the game a shot. You won't be able to pull yourself away from it very easily.

A list of features:

  • Hilarious and devistating turn based combat for up to 6 players

  • Both local and network multiplayer, with optional AI opponents

  • Battle on an infinite number of randomly generated maps, with over 20 environments

  • Utilise 47 (and counting) devistating weapons! Including the piano strike and explosive robotic cake

  • Play the game your way, with 18 different game modifiers, tweak almost every aspect of the match

  • Customize your team, with over 120 costumes, 30 graves, 12 forts, 100s of flags and unique voice packs

  • Huge battles with up to 48 hogs
